Knitting garden

This was formerly the herb garden, but when the raised beds collapsed after a particularly wet summer, a new plan was needed. I love the idea of sitting knitting in the sun – don’t do it much, but loooove the idea. So I needed a knitting garden.

The project was started in autumn 2015, but help up because of Keith’s back problems. But it was almost completed in summer 2016, as you can see. It’s a lovely spot for breakfast as it gets the morning sun. The view of the drive is shielded by pots of willow – the black pots still need to be hidden by some willow screening. It also needs a bench beneath the living room window, but we are still not agreed on what to buy so …

Some herbs rescued from the herb garden are in pots, but some of these will be relocated to a medicinal bed eventually.
